I've walked through some seasons where God's plans didn't make a whole lot of sense. I didn't understand what God was up to, and I couldn't see the purpose in the pain. To me, that's one of the most beautiful things about the Christmas story- it's not how any of us would have planned it. But God did.

The God of the heavens, the king of glory, set aside His throne and came down to dwell among us. Immanuel... God with us. He didn't come to castles or palaces or the White House. He came to a stable. He lived with ordinary people. He wrote a story that none of us would have guessed, but he had a purpose and plan all along.
